“The New Economy in the Age of AI: Opportunities, Risks, and the Transformation of Society”

Explanation

This year’s theme was developed in collaboration with our scientific board and their long-standing associates. The theme “New Horizons: Digital Economy and Responses to a Changing World” is highly relevant and socially justified, as it addresses key processes shaping the contemporary global economy. In a world where digital technologies transform the way we work, communicate, and create value, understanding digital transformation becomes one of the fundamental prerequisites for sustainable development and economic progress. The global economy is facing rapid and profound changes, with digitalization emerging as the central force reshaping markets, industries, and social relations. The transformation of markets through digital technologies opens new opportunities but also poses challenges related to competitiveness, data security, and global regulation. At the same time, digital inclusion and the issue of global inequality come increasingly into focus, as access to digital resources significantly influences the economic prospects of individuals and societies. In such an environment, new work paradigms and flexible economic models are redefining traditional employment patterns, while artificial intelligence plays a crucial role in shaping modern business processes, labor markets, and innovation. Our ability to appropriately respond to these changes and leverage digital potential will be essential for developing competitive, equitable, and sustainable economic systems. This theme provides broad space for analyzing and researching various aspects of the digital economy—ranging from technological innovations and new business models to the social implications of digital transformation and the challenges related to policy development and a just transition. The proposed content aims to inspire researchers to offer new perspectives on understanding digital changes and their impact on the global economic order, without imposing strict limitations. Our goal is to encourage a deeper understanding of how digital technologies can contribute to building a more resilient, inclusive, and innovative global economy.
